PIERSOL GROUP CAMP
MEEMAN SHELBY FOREST STATE PARK
910 RIDDICK ROAD, MILLINGTON, TN 38053 Come join the Barony of Grey Niche as teams compete with one another for the GOLD! Form a team, create a banner and try to best our champions in the following areas: heavy and light fighting, archery, youth combat, and knowledge. Teams should consist of at least one of each skill type. We will also be hosting the annual Silver Torc Tourney, Baronial Rapier Champion Tourney, A&S Classes and A&S competitions. On Board will consist of Friday night soup kitchen, breakfast, lunch and feast on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Merlin’s Magical Mystery Feast is limited to 125. There will be a separate children’s feast. Bed space is limited to 136 beds. If you would like to camp, please contact the state park directly for reservations (901-876-5215). Description
No Camping is allowed in the group camp area. Camping is available at the park’s Dogwood Ridge public campground. Dogwood Campground contains 49 sites. Each has paved parking, water, electricity, a picnic table, grill, and an open, above ground, fire pit. The campground has a modern bathhouse (hot and cold water) showers and restrooms. The campground is approximately one mile from the group camp. Shuttles will run periodically from the group camp to the campground for persons needing transportation back and forth. Sites are $18.00/night (Three tents and up to 10 people allowed per site). Directions: From the South: Take I-55 North to the I-55/I-240 interchange in Memphis, TN. Continue North on I-240 to Exit 2A(Hwy 51). Take Hwy 51 North for six traffic lights to Watkins St (Hwy 388). Turn Left onto Watkins St and go (6 miles) until it ends at Locke-Cuba Rd (SCA signs begin) Turn Left onto Locke-Cuba Rd and go 1 mile to the four way stop (Bluff Rd). Turn Right onto Bluff Rd and go 1 mile. The park entrance is on the Left. Follow the SCA signs to Piersol Group Camp. Troll is in the picnic shelter on the left at the entrance to the group camp. From the West: Take I-40 East to the I-40/I-240 interchange in Memphis, TN. Take I-240 North. Continue North on I-240 to Exit 2A(Hwy 51). From Hwy 51 follow the directions above. From the East: Take I-40 West to the I-40/I-240 interchange in Memphis, TN. Follow the I-40 West signs around the North loop to Exit 2A(Hwy 51). From Hwy 51 follow the directions above.
